The system for Automated Grade and Slope Control

Easy to use, accurate and reliable: the Auto Grade Plus and Grade Assist systems for automated grade and slope control from VÖGELE perfectly support paving teams in managing grade and slope control tasks.

Auto Grade Plus: the reliable system for Automated Grade and Slope Control

Auto Grade Plus, the Dash 5-generation system for Automated Grade and Slope Control, helps users pave any roadbase true to line and level.

Paving level can be accurately controlled by scanning the previously specified reference level with the aid of various sensor systems. Auto Grade Plus evens out irregularities during paving, improving the evenness and surface accuracy of the carriageway.

Grade Assist: the assistance system for paving profiles

Grade Assist automates the paving of crown and transverse pavement profiles. The desired profile and the section for profile paving can be specified in the assistance system. Grade Assist then ensures that this value is steadily approached until the predefined position is reached.

The Auto Grade Plus option is required in order to be able to use the Grade Assist system.

The automated control system

VÖGELE AutoTrac controls the pave width and direction of a Dash 5 paver using sensors which scan physical references. Smart Pave introduces the next level of automation: this VÖGELE solution controls pave width, paver position and paver direction fully automatically on the basis of virtual references.

AutoTrac: automatic steering and width control

AutoTrac from VÖGELE facilitates automatic screed width control using the Edge Control tensioned wire tracker, the Edge Detection edge tracker and the fixed screed width setting.

Users can also steer their Dash 5 paver automatically using AutoTrac Steering.

Smart Pave: the digital control system

Smart Pave controls the pave width, position and direction of a VÖGELE Dash 5 paver fully automatically on the basis of virtual references. The validated paving geometries this system uses are sourced from the John Deere Operations Center™ for construction machinery.

To use this solution, users need WPT Paving Pro in combination with the John Deere StarFire™ dual antenna system.

Digital construction site documentation

Using the WIRTGEN GROUP Performance Tracker for road construction (WPT Paving), users can always keep an eye on the construction progress of their VÖGELE paver, record the key paving parameters and analyse their performance data in the John Deere Operations Center™ for construction machinery. The RoadScan temperature measuring system also records paving temperature.

WPT Paving: precision paving and construction site documentation.

WPT Paving provides paving teams with a complete overview: of the paver’s current output, of material consumption and of progress on the construction site - as well as recording key data. This performance data is available for further analysis in the John Deere Operations Center™ for construction machinery.

WPT Paving from VÖGELE is available in both Basic and Pro versions.

RoadScan: the Dash 5 temperature measurement system

The RoadScan temperature measuring system optimised for Dash 5 pavers enables paving teams to record paving temperature even more accurately and comprehensively. Operators view the data in real time on the ErgoPlus 5 Premium Touch display of the paver operator’s console.

The WPT Paving Pro option is used to transfer the data to the John Deere Operations Center™ where it can be used for further analyses.
